Olive extract

The olive tree (Olea europaea) is central to Mediterranean food culture, but its interest extends well beyond olive oil. Olive leaves and other olive-derived materials contain characteristic phenolic compounds, particularly oleuropein and related polyphenols, which have become an important subject of nutritional and food-science research. Recent clinical research continues to investigate olive leaf extract and oleuropein, while the composition of an extract depends on the raw material and the way it is produced.
